Preparing for Pregnancy

Optimising your health before conception.

A pre-pregnancy consultation offers a space to review your medical history, discuss any concerns and plan confidently for a healthy pregnancy — before you begin trying to conceive.

Your Trimesters

A reassuring guide, trimester by trimester.

Understanding what to expect at each stage can help you feel more prepared and at ease throughout your pregnancy.

First Trimester

Weeks 1–12

The foundation of your pregnancy — your body begins to adapt and your baby starts to form.

What's happening

Your baby's organs begin to develop, and a heartbeat can often be seen on an early ultrasound.

Your appointments

First antenatal visit, dating scan, routine blood tests and a discussion of screening options.

Reassuring advice

Tiredness and nausea are common. Rest, small frequent meals and fluids can help — there is no single 'normal' to compare yourself to.

What to Expect

Seeking pregnancy care with Dr Shilla.

When you first reach out, the clinic team will help schedule your appointment and provide guidance on what to bring. Your first visit typically includes a discussion of your medical history, an ultrasound and an opportunity to ask questions.

Throughout your pregnancy, Dr Shilla will monitor your health and your baby's growth, arrange necessary screenings and keep you informed at every stage. She is accredited to perform deliveries and surgical procedures at multiple hospitals in Singapore.

Every pregnancy is unique. Dr Shilla's approach is to ensure you feel heard, informed and cared for — not just medically, but as a person.

Continuity of Care

Supporting families through more than one pregnancy.

For some families, the journey doesn't end with a first birth. Returning for a second pregnancy — to a doctor who already knows your history and your story — can bring comfort and confidence.
